agape
We, Taylor McDaniel and Sean Pessin, started this publishing experiment as a way to try out an idea: if we gave a space to writers whose work we were invested in, who would they share that space with? Borrowing this concept from the Greek articulation of agápē: the reciprocal love among people, we invited six writers to share work they wanted out in the world, with the caveat that after the first issue, they’d each invite a writer to have work in the journal as their guest in the subsequent issue, who, in turn, would invite a writer as well, and so on.
For each person who offers a space of good will in this journal, one becomes.
In this way, the project perpetuates outside the intentions of the editors, who will merely print the pieces of the issues as they arrive.
Our hope is to demonstrate these connections of literary love in the world.
